Whether you are thinking of getting into sailing or already own a boat, the SYC membership provides you access to Ramsey Lake. Whether it be enjoying a spring day, a long summer’s evening or watching the changing of the fall colours the SYC site, located near Science North, is one of the most striking in the city of Greater Sudbury.
Membership provides with a place to enjoy the lake and a place to be part of a community that supports an ecologically friendly sport.
The SYC membership is structured to meet the needs of families or individuals, active sailors or persons that still are passionate about sailing but no longer wish to own a boat.
The SYC organises a number of socials evenings to allow members and their families to get together and chat – really its an excuse to talk about sailing.
The club’s signature social event is the Canada day celebration, a day long celebration of our great nation, featuring on land games, a Turner cup pursuit, commodore sail-by and closing off with one of the best locations to watch the annual fireworks.
A place to host
Equipped with picnic tables, a full kitchen, sauna and protected swim platform the SYC is a great place to host family and friends. Located minutes from Downtown it really is a “camp” within the city. The SYC stewarts ensure that the facility is kept clean.
Members can also reserve the club house for private functions.

Located just a few minutes from downtown Sudbury and the Four Corners, the Yacht club is a great place to spend a summer evening after work and still get home to your comfortable bed.
